The launch of the first International Conference of the Infection Control Network for the North Africa Region took place in Cairo under the slogan "Africa Unites Against Infection." The conference witnessed the attendance of several prominent figures, including Dr. Folasade Ogunsola, Chairperson of the African Infection Control Network, and Dr. Nkwan Jacob, Infection Control Official from Cameroon, along with participants via the online platform such as Dr. Shaheen Muhtar, Founder of the African Infection Control Network, and Dr. Yaounde Alemany, Director of Infection Control at the African Union Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasized in a speech delivered on his behalf by Dr. Ghada Ismail, Director of the Northern Region Center of the African Network and Rapporteur of the Supreme Committee for Infection Control at University Hospitals, that the ministry places significant importance on prevention and reducing the spread of infections.
